Hi:
Does anyone know how you can pass xml data using http post.

Is it in the same format as sending info as cgi.
(ie. http//myserver/cgi-bin/mycgi.exe?name=nick&age=old)

I have been searching for answer to this and all I got myself was a headache. Mad

Any leads would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.
Nick

Altho I never used VDS for that, I did post some XML content directly to server here. I guess it it should be possible with VDSIPP.

I did have to specify the Content-type for my server (Content-Type=text/xml).

Using the HTTP POST of VDSIPP you could maybe put your XML data for the last parameter.

But could you give more details on how you want to post the data, is it thru a JSP, ASP... Or directly to your server..

Hi marty and FF:
I am running a MySQL front end that I wrote in vds. What I would like to do is pass some data in 'well formed xml' to another companies server.

The server will accept xml passed to it as an http post. Normally in an http post I use the the vdsipp dll to send the name=value pairs. My question is how are the name value pairs sent using xml.

I hope this makes sense.

Nick

I haven't checked but I thought I read a post like this quite a while ago.
Check the forum's search and also the archive's search:

http://archive.vdsworld.com/search.php?searchtext=xml

I hope this helps. Smile
