Hi,
I'm trying to connect to an already created File DSN or System DSN using the proper UID and PWD and I'm always getting the error code 1004.
Code Im using:
DB CONNECT,TEST DB,QUALITY, TEST
Its a SQL Server DB, not local.
Im a bit confused on out to connect. Thanks. |

I'm not sure what you're doing wrong for now, but could you please try executing something
similar to this?
Code: |
OPTION ERRORTRAP,ERROR
DB CONNECT,TEST DB,QUALITY, TEST
EXIT
:ERROR
INFO @DB(ERROR)
STOP

Marty, If its a remote sql database you would have to use,
tommys vdsmysql.dll
mysql login,@dlgtext(eHostname),@dlgtext(eUsername),@dlgtext(ePassword),@dlgtext(ePort)
It's not part of vdsdll.dll and i don't think tommy has the vds5 fix applied to it yet.

Code: | directory change,@path(%0)
external vdsdb.dll
OPTION ERRORTRAP,ERROR
rem create database alias
db setup,"SQL Server",DSN=QATEST,UID=TESTQA,PWD=QA,DataDirectory=,DBQ=SQL01
rem establish database connection
db connect,QATEST,TESTQA,QA
exit
:ERROR
INFO @DB(ERROR)
STOP
|
Im getting the error : 4201545|
And yes Its not a local DB on my machine.. Should I still use MySql? Its a Microsoft Database server. |

Marty, of course this is entirely unrelated to MySQL (or the VDSMYSQL DLL), as this
is the Microsoft SQL Server and not a MySQL database server.
The error description you gave me isn't likely to going to help me, as somehow no
error description is given.... |

Sorry Tommy, but thats what the DLL is returning me.. Number without any Description.
I found other issues with VDSDB 2.0 vs VDSDB 2.1.. Will let you know soon.. BTW Have a nice vacation! |
