|
|
Hi all,
I'm trying to automate a process on one of our servers which requires Telnet access.
I was thinking of writing an application which can work via Telnet. Is it possible to use VDSIPP.DLL or VDSINET.DLL for such application? Or is there any other extension which can do this?
Thanks

Hello,
Anyone, correct me if I'm wrong, but with both DLLs, Telnet functionnalities isnt included.
I don't know about any extensions for that either.
But maybe someone else has an idea? |

Telnet uses standard TCP/IP from what I have seen. Just load either dll vdsipp/vdsinet and use the TCP/IP protocol to do what you need. It's not going to be as easy as using one of the replicated protocols like smtp/pop3/ftp but with raw TCP/IP or UDP you can build/replicate just about any other type of internet protocol. |

A good way to see how these programs work, is to create a TCP program that works as a server and a client, simultaneously, exchanging and monitoring the information between the two. Then connect the client to your program, and your program to the real server, and see the syntax of the commands exchanged between the real client and server. That's what I usually do |
