I use BINFILE for read/write binary floating point numbers. Does anybody knows how to convert binary numbers (4 or 8 bytes) to IEEE floating point numbers (single or double precision) and IEEE to binary. Thansk in advance.

just did a search at vdsworld using the keyword ieee and it returned nothing...it would indicate that there are no dll's or dsu's designed to deal with ieee conversions

did a search of this forum and also found nothing...looks like there is nothing to help you that has already been done

i had a quick read of the 2 links i gave you and got confused...i'm good at maths but couldn't quite understand at first glance what they were saying...i have a problem reading stuff when there is too much info...can you tell me as simply as possible what ieee floating numbers are?

i understand binary numbers, i understand floating point numbers, i understand scientific numbers,... but not ieee

if i can grasp what ieee numbers are, i might be able to write something for you
