LOL, not at that price.
It wouldn't run Win95 anyway...

heeheh Maybe VirtualPC might emulate Win95 on it, but I wouldn't bet on it. |

ha I saw this happen to someone's Apple once. I wouldn't ever use a
Macintosh - stick with good ol' Windows.
BTW, just a fact I read somewhere: the reason why Windows has so
many "security holes" is because it is the most widely used OS so the
hackers target Windows much more than any other OS. _________________ FreezingFire

Don't believe the hype that Linux is more secure then Windows. That is not the reality. The fact is with Linux you have to update packages almost daily, and the kernel has security issues weekly - where most of the time if you don't get the new kernel you leave the box open to a complete remote access at root level. There have been tons of sendmail issues as well which could have lead to root access. Operating two dedicated servers I know how tiresome it has become to update and manage the boxes daily because of security issues, and the fact that these updates are not from a central authority makes this task much more harder.
People like to say Windows is not as secure as Linux because they like to make Linux look like it is a better OS, in reality is is not better then Windows at security. It is very good at servers (performance) and I would say better then Windows in that respect.
But when it comes to desktop's -Linux is absolutely garbage; device driver support is minimal at best, apps for specific tasks are hard to find and much of desktop linux (X-Windows/Gnome/Red Hat Fedora) is nothing more then a ripoff of Windows. Why use the imitation when you can use the real thing? |

| Agreed, that's really the fault of users rather then Windows. How hard can it really be to not open email attachment from people you don't know? Apparently it seems many users do such a thing and I don't think it would be any different if Linux was more user friendly and people began to use that on their desktops. |

hehehehe... Wow the first honest Linux user I have never met anyone else that uses Linux that was this honest about it. I have to agree with everything that PK has said here. I used to use Linux in the past for my Server needs and found that it was more of a pain than it was worth. I soon found that it was worth giving up a little performance for ease of administration. It is really up to the administrator. _________________ Home of

Linux is good and very affordable consider it costs nothing for the OS itself but several packages do cost money when you need to operate a server with reliability and performance. I may eventually switch back over to a Windows box in the future but currently Linux is doing okay for me. The issue however is that any OS is vulnerable to attacks and one certainly is not more 'secure' then another. |
