About 0.0001 seconds, since that's the time you check for the existance of the dialog... Smile No, I think it might even be less, or maybe people won't even see it, because the program starts, loads everything, and after that displays the dialog. Because my code is using a list with all running tasks, that might intercept the Task Manager dialog before it is even created... Smile I'll check it in a few seconds...

I checked, and it seems that 0.1 second wait time is already enough to not show up the Task Manager. But, to be safe, I'd use 0.001 or something, so you are sure it will never show up... Smile

Sorry, my mistake.

The vdsprot is contained with the vdsdll3 package I think. Smile

Another option to disable task manager.
This uses Tommy vdsbin.dll

You should kill all taskmgr.exe process before you lock the file

Code:

 EXTERNAL @path(%0)vdsbin.dll,
    #DEFINE COMMAND,FILEIO
    #DEFINE FUNCTION,FILEIO
Title test
DIALOG CREATE,New Dialog,-1,0,240,160
  DIALOG ADD,BUTTON,BUTTON1,22,19,64,24,BUTTON1
  DIALOG SHOW
:Evloop
  wait event
  goto @event()
:BUTTON1BUTTON
fileio OPEN,c:\winnt\system32\taskmgr.exe,R,exclusive
  goto evloop
:Close
  exit

Nice solution, only I should use @windir(s) in steed of c:\winnt\system32 to get the system dir... Smile
