|
|
My stupid younger brother was downloading a MP3 file and he checked the 'always do this' box, and then he clicked Open (windows xp file download pre-dialog). Now everytime he wants to download a MP3 it automatically opens it in internet explorer or in windows media player (depending on how I set it). I want it to download to a file or to pop up the pre-download box again (where you can select open, save, cancel). Does anyone know how to do this? (or undo this ) |

I don't have any advice. I was stuck with this kind of problem until I
reinstalled Windows. Except it was ZIP files that had the problem. You
can see how much of a pain that must have been, like if you have to
click on a download link that just redirects you to the file, then you can't
do "Save Target As..."
Maybe a Google search would help? I'm too busy right now to search
for this problem.  _________________ FreezingFire

In Windows XP I can do:
Configuration Panel->Folder Options->File Types tab
Select the "MP3" file type and click "Advanced". There is a box that can be checked:
"Confirm open after download". |
