If ya have that as an option on install, the purchaser
can do the renaming (or leave it as the original).

Or ya could just put that idea in the help file as a
suggestion. Wink

3 problems mac

1. my installation files are in the one INSTALL.EXE file and so the exe filename is not available to folks

2. my program can be set to run automatically when windows is run, if i change the name of the file, how am i going to update the registry entry of the new name? ie. how can vds pick up the name of its own file?

3. i am using a particular icon which is not very windows like - a change of icon might be prefered too

i would just like the option of making my program invisible to the average user as i know that the determined is usually the knowledgeable and hard to get past

i think vdsprot offered something like that but not for vds 5

A VDS app can check %0 for it's own path and filename. Wink

and you are right %0 can be used to give me the filename - i only use it in @PATH(%0) and naturally thought that it only provides the path name Embarassed
