|
|
Hi again ,
I tried the OPTION FONTDLG FORCE Parameter but it
not seems to work.
I want to disable the styleselection (bold, etc).
So I entered OPTION FONTDLG,FORCE,NOSTYLESEL,1 (or 0)
but its alway there.
I tried other commands to - the only one which works is showhelp.
Is this a problem with my German OS (Win98) ?
Bye, Fabian |

I just got around to trying the FORCE option, and it doesn't work for me either. This, I would think, is a bug. Anyone know how to call the font dialog with API and to be able to disable size and sytle selection? _________________ Chris

You can always create your own font dialog box.
I think I remember seeing some code around for that, and I might have
possibly even seen a DLL that would display a windows font dialog box. _________________ FreezingFire

Yeah, I am using VDSObject , but, I didn't want to have to add another dll. Oh well. _________________ Chris

You don't have to use VDSOBJECT to add a font box. You can use
LIST FONTLIST and use a BITLIST element to display the fonts if you would
like
However, that requires VDS 5. _________________ FreezingFire

I just looked at this, and it is not a bug. I cannot disable things like size or style selection even in a Delphi program. VDS is correctly setting the options. So it would seem that Windows does not allow these options to be removed from the font dialog.
I think the font dialog was implemented by SADE in VDS 4. I would be interested to know whether this option ever worked. (I don't have VDS 4 so I can't test it.) _________________ The Tech Pro

Just a question on that, has anybody ever e-mailed CR about getting
older versions of the software? It seems to me that it would be only
fair to provide registered users with copies of software they have paid
$100+ for a license to.
I have not yet e-mailed CR about it, but someday I would like to get
a copy of VDS 4, as I have my license key somewhere around, but
not a copy of VDS 4 I don't think. _________________ FreezingFire

If you need a copy, I have one. I still use it sometimes. _________________ Chris

Still have VDS 2, 3, and 4 backed up on CD so if anyone ever needs a copy of an old version just give a yell and I'll dig it up
(provided the cd is still readable)
It's a habit of me to always copy official bought software to cd for later use, I never put my trust singly on a harddisk.

I didn't want a copy of VDS 4, so much as someone who had a copy to try the option fontdlg and report what happened. _________________ The Tech Pro

No - However, I think perhaps some of my previous invoices are not linked
to my current account, and I no longer have the details.
I will contact you about linking the accounts.
I have the registered name, e-mail address, and other details if you need
them. _________________ FreezingFire
