Hello,

I recently released my first DSU I made (but I released it about 2 months after finishing date Wink). You can download it here.

This dsu is very usefull when you're creating a application that uses multiple languages, so there's no need anymore to work with .ini files.
The dsu also makes the use of translated menus much more easier... have a look at the example script.

Quote:

Always tried to create multi language programs with VDS, but gave up because it was to much work? Then this dsu might be the solution!

The dsu has the following features:
- It supports placing variables in a text which has been returned by the language file
- The text can be divided over multiple lines by placing '\n' in the text
- Unlimited number of language files
- The function @lang(decode_menu < event >) returns the < section >.< key > which belongs to a translated menu item, so you don't have to make a MENU event for each language. Have a look at the example script for more information...
- The use of blowfish encrypted language files is supported
- @lang(default) returns the language of the end user's operating system.

If there are some errors in my English, please correct them Embarassed

Please post any comments or suggestions below Smile

Best regards,
Vic

Thank you for bringing this thread, and DSU, to my attention. I popped in to search for info on adding multi-language support to a script and saw this thread highlighted as having unread posts. Wink

And thanks to Vic for writing the DSU. I've only had a quick read of the help file and a quick look at the demo, but it seems like just what I needed.

This is so cool. Once I worked out that you can no longer use 'list create,1' or 'list create,2'. And remembered to add '_var' to the keynames that I wanted to use % with.

But, there's always a but, I'm getting a compiler error: Invalid function at line 134 in lang.dsu. It compiled and ran fine in the first application that I used it in. But the 2nd application won't compile or run.

EDIT Never mind. I didn't have #define function, BLOWFISH in this 2nd application.

Did I mention how cool this dsu is? Cool Kudos, Vic.
