New Update availabe
Hi folks,
I just uploaded the new version of VariableCounter (V1.3.1.65).
One major improvement is the gain in speed. It's about 6x faster now than the previous version!!!
Also new is a CRC32 checksum function and a quick-scan key (F3) .
Just take a look an judge for yourself....
Greetings Mike

NICE JOB
I was really surprised with the speed enhancement until I discovered this version wasn't written with VDS. Thank you for sharing this awesome little tool. |

|
|
New update available: Version 1.4.2.77
So folks, this is it - a final update which should satisfy all needs as far as variable management in a vds project is concerned.
Since VariableCounter has become far more than it was intended at first, I added a description of all functions to the helpfile.
New features added:
- entire project management independent from vds project files
- add/delete project files and save it to harddisk
- reload VariableCounter projects
- updated helpfile
- advanced CRC32-Checksum function
- improved F3-shortcut (fast scan variable names/jumps to the specified line
- check function to prevent loading the same file into the editor twice
I hope you enjoy this little application as much as I have enjoyed making it. This is my way of saying thanks to the VDS community that helped me along the past 3 years with answering all the questions I had.
Unless there are bugs in this final release, a new update of VariableCounter will be available as soon as VDS 6 is out - I guess we are all waiting to see this happen.
I am going back home to States for a while so I won't be around for some time - just few weeks - and I might not have time to view any new posts during this period.
Until then, have fun and I wish all of you nice coding,

Hi Estas,
thanks foir this great tool. I used the first version which was much slower. This one is really a whole lot faster.
I currently work on a project that consists of 9500 lines of code and it took just 15 sec to process all variables.
Keep up the good work and i am looking forward to your next update |

One Question:
Is it possible to use the integrated checksum function for other files eg. bin files like .exe or is it limited to vds files? |

Hi SilverMonn,
the checksum function in the current version of VariableCounter is for VisualDialog files only. I might add a new feature in the next update to check exe files as well. _________________ Greetings to all the folks back home in the States. Thanks Dr.Dread,
but since i am using Variable Counter quite frequently, and also a seperate checksum program, I thought it would be handy to have both in one. I am not looking for a dll - but thanks anyway for the hint. |

Hi all,
a new of version of VariableCounter is available: V 1.4.5.140
Added a most recent used file list to the menu bar for more convenience when loading different files. The most recent ones are now directly accessible through a list in the menu bar. _________________ Greetings to all the folks back home in the States. Hi Estas,
This is a great tool! I use this all the time.
I do have an unreasonable request, though. If it's not too much trouble, it would be very handy to list all the lists that are created in the script.
Thanks for a great tool!

As far as lists are concerned I'll give it a thought.
If it's possible I might include a list function in the next update.
Thanks for the reply. _________________ Greetings to all the folks back home in the States. A friendly "hola -como estas" to all my friends from Spain and Greece. |

Hi all,
Lists are now included in version 1.5.2.51 of VariableCounter.
However, as far as lists are concerned, consider it a beta version.
Any user feedbacks are welcome. _________________ Greetings to all the folks back home in the States. A friendly "hola -como estas" to all my friends from Spain and Greece. |
