I believe you are referring to PGWARE'S "vdspopup.dll" however the ability to add bitmaps is now native for both the menu and popup menus in VDS v6.

It was an example of a way to use the popup menu as a main menu. It doesn't work right because it's not a real menu. There is no workaround. To get glyphs in menu items you'll need to use vds 6.

Hi Filip,

SSMenu.dll does what you're looking for also. I don't know if it works with
VDS 6 although it should, I think Don't know

I believe SSMenu will work with resourced bitmaps since it uses his Imagelist component.

Did you look at CodeScript's Enhance Menu DSU I mentioned earlier?

Here's the link http://www.vdsworld.com/download.php?id=355&sid=95f36403eccb2e8f9ab49d454f84b7bd

You are correct Aslan, SSMenu.Dll does support #Resource included in
the executable. SSMenu.Dll is also supposed to be able to detect if the
script is running from the IDE or as a standalone application. If the script
is running in the IDE, the resources are loaded from the disk, otherwise
they are loaded from the compiled executable.

However, the menu bitmaps are not custom drawn on the menu like
PGWare' VdsPopup.Dll does, SSMenu.Dll simply calls the
SetMenuItemBitmaps() API.

BYW, CodeScripts EnhancedMenu DSU, basically does the same thing
that SSMenu.Dll does.

Try the following instead::
MENU SETBITMAPS,%%menuHandle,0,#Bitmap.bmp,#Bitmap.bmp

Going off the top of my head here, don't have the help file for SSMenu
handy, the first #Bitmap.bmp is for the checked image and the second
#Bitmap.bmp is for the unchecked image. If you won't actually be setting
the checked attribute for a menuitem you specify bitmaps for, you can
leave the first #Bitmap.bmp empty. Or vise versa if you want to specify
your own check bitmap for the then leave the second #Bitmap.bmp
blank.
