does not have the file(s) clicked ready for editing and the IDE is empty. The file(s) has to be opened from within VDS6. AND clicking on on a subsequent .DSC file opens a new VDS window rather than adding it to the IDE.

This is on a new windows 7-64 bit machine.

Is there anyway I can force Windows 7 to open the DSC or DSP when double-clicked on?

Thanks in advance

Did you install VDS or just copy/extract it?

Reading some of the stuff here, I installed it both in WinXP SP3 and Vista SP2 compatibility modes.

Makes no difference!

Try this reg file. I have a "portable" version of VDS 6 that I just copy to my drive and use this reg file to associate my DSC and DSP files. If you have VDS installed into the default folder, this should work, if not check the paths in the reg file and make any adjustments needed.

This is a working reg file, but just to be safe, do not mess with the registry unless you know what you are doing. I am not responsible for any damage to a system because of editing the registry.

Just wanted to give myself a little protection. Smile

Hi Chris

Yes, that worked. Many Thanks. All I had to do was change the location of 'Program Files' to 'Program File (x86)'

Cheers

Hi Chris

I have now moved to Windows 8 (old HD gave up the ghost) and getting the same issues.

Could you re-upload that reg file. I cannot locate on my systems!

Thanks in advance

***EDIT*** Now found it in an archive, so no action required ***EDIT***
