That would certainly be sensible. Precedent might give an idea of what the reaction is likely to be though. Didn't one well-known member of this forum try making a clone of VDS a few years back? I know SADE were very unhappy about it. I don't know whether the person concerned was dissuaded from continuing with it due to legal threats, or because he discovered that the job was harder than it first looked. _________________ The Tech Pro

Jules,
I think I know what you are referring to here. The details are a little bit different than we are talking about. I think the previous attempt was to make a VDS clone that would run on a Windows platform. Even if it is not a legal issue I still think that it would be an issue of ethics. Legal issues aside, taking something that does not belong to you and calling it your own is just not right. Capitalizing off of someone elses work without at least giving some kind of credit for that work to the rightful person is still not right in my book. _________________ Home of

They can, unless I misunderstand the question. |
i just tried yesterday using double digits and after closing and reopening the project, it defaulted to 1 digit
i'm talking about the version numbers in PROJECT MANAGER or am i missing something to make it work?

I was too, but you are quite right. I clearly remember increasing the limits on the spin edits so you could go to 255.255.255.9999 after someone asked for this. But what I obviously didn't realise was that the numbers are getting truncated either when they are saved to the project file or when they are read back in again. I'll fix this. _________________ The Tech Pro

Does anyone have hopes for a new version of Visual DialogScript?
I think it would be a tremendous shame not to have such a powerful and simple tool, so well made.
I would not like to give up a new version of VDS that includes all the proposals of the forum.
I am thinking of a crowdfunding ... I would be willing to participate without thinking if the owner wanted to launch a new version |

Hello everyone
Emmanuel is working on a bug fix and unfortunately has very little time, but he doesn't forget about us.
For me this software is also very important and I am also ready to invest in this solution. |
