Not a VDS related thing, but what do you guys think of our revised web site? I just put it up this morning. Until today, the web site has looked pretty much the same since 1996 (wasn't that when Mac's computer was purchased?)
All comments welcome!

Thanks,

LOL, you guys are just jealous of my "turn of the millennium"
equipment...
The site looks OK to me - would prolly be faster loading on 28k
if ya use JPGs instead of GIFs whenever ya can...

No, that's just when he upgraded from Windows 3.0 to 3.1

28K? They stopped making those in the late 90's, no? |

I have two 56k modems - a V.90 and a V.92.
Southwestern Bell is the problem, and I ain't their only
customer. Where they still have copper lines, the speed
is higher - but with the fiber optic lines, they put more
customers on less bandwidth (I used to have a 44k
connection).
Their solution? Get DSL. Doesn't matter that it's not
available in my area...

No probs with my computer speed either. It'll run Q3
at 1024x768...

Hey Mac,
Yup southwestern bell lines are terrible, when I was using dialup I would get disconnected almost every 10 minutes. It became frustrating but at the time there was really nothing else available. There might be satellite internet available.

it loaded fast for me here in down-under with a modem connected at 31,200
i'm not sure if this is going to help but i feel that there seems to be something missing - something to make it stand out - an animation perhaps...
i know it's vague but it's just a feeling...it feels too business like...but may be that is the effect you want...

In the end it's gonna turn out that Mac is really some hillbilly living 30 miles off the nearest
road in a tin shed with 22 of his nearest family, 40 chickens, a cow, and a mule generating
power for his W95 box. His modem is then connected to the barbwire fence running
down to Southwestern Bell's central office in the nearest 1 horse town only some 70
miles further soooaathweeestt

Hehe, that's closer than ya think Dread....
Prakash, I'm about 5 miles north of Lake Texoma. 6-8 miles
from the nearest town (Kingston - pop less than 800), and 11
miles from the largest city in the county (Madill - pop less
than 3000).
Satellite internet is available (LOL we do have access to the
sky here...) but there's a constant lag time, and it's not worth
the price (to me anyway).
I was kinda bummed about the drop to 28k, but hey - I'm just
glad we got a local number for dialup a few years ago...

I have cable internet too, and it wasn't that fast untill a month ago. First they gave a 28k8 modem, so my 'speed' was about 1 kb/sec... But now they've upgraded the connection, gave me another modem, and now I surf the internet 20 times faster! So Mac, I know how it feels... |

I like the old header color (darker blue), and the new header
design...
