Yeah, that might be right. But as I said, can't remember Wink

Whish I had that machine again. I had an old Karate game on it too. Well,, karate and karate, there were bick square blocks but they were supposed to look like Karate people I think Laughing

But my favorite is the C64 with a tape deck. Think I had about 400 games on a single music tape Laughing
That was soo cool. My favorite game on that was Rambo and Save New York.

Serge

I made som demos on my C64. lol
I also had a Commodore PC II I think it was called. It had a monochrome screen and when turning it on you had a simple menu made in batch I think.

My first job at 16 was in a local shop called 'CBs and Micros'. They sold the computers as a sideline to the booming CB industry. (My boss once said " A CB in every bedroom..." Very Happy )

Anyway they sold them all, from the ZX81 and VIC 20 to the C64 the BBC Micro and The Oracle (Great names back then too).
I remember (with some shame Embarassed ) copying games in the stockroom for my own use by using a tape > tape recorder.....I thought i was NEO... Shocked

One day the CB market fell through about the time that ABBA split i think and he shut the shop thinking that computers were a novelty!! I was out of a job. Had some great times there, and of course the games WERE better then...

Now I'm gonna get my slippers and pipe and have a nap. Thinkin about the olden days makes a man mighty tired. Zzzzzzz Zzzzzzzz

Slippers and pipe... Laughing

It's not that many years ago when I used tape streamers too. They were abit slow compared to todays gadgets, but still very usefull when I only had a 20 MB HD Laughing

Geo,

I saw an old episode of 'Friends' recently Embarassed where Chander was boasting about his new laptop...

Chandler: Check out this bad boy.. 12Mb of RAM and 512Mb of Hard disk and built in spreadsheet capabilities...

Shows how quickly these programs can date when the show equipment like this...

Ten years ago people were amazed that there were going to be computers with a harddisc which was bigger than 10 MB! Laughing

He he he I haven't seen that episode. But they will probably send it in a re-run. Again... Laughing

BTW, I just upgraded my ADSL line from 704 kb/s to 4 mb/s. Now I'm just waiting for the line to be upgraded and I'm gonna start downloading big time Wink All legal offcourse.

And the users on the MMB Resource site will benifit from it too, cause I'm hosting all the MMB related resource files on my network.

Skit3000, I remember a friend of mine who bought a harddrive for his C64. I think it was a 50 mb HD and that was amazing back then. I must admit that I kinda miss my old A500 where I made alot of cool demos and intros using Amiga Demo Maker (if I remember correctly).

Smile I didn't had an Commodore 64 until last year. I had some bad luck, as it crashed immediately. Maybe because I was looping it trying to show all possible colors at the same time? Or was it because I was also letting the background blink from white to black at the same time? I think I'll just never know the truth... Crying or Very sad Laughing

Uhm, think I'll answer YES to both questions Laughing

Whish I had an old C64 here now.
One of the coolest things was that you can have about 50-100 games on a single tape. But it took along time to find the game you wanted. I had a good system where I wrote down minute and second where each game was so I could find them easier Laughing

Just remembered my favorite game, it was "Save New York". Has anyone played that? You had to save the city from alien spiders or something and you could fly araound in jet planes and go under the city to the underground train... Very fun game.

He he he he yeah, it was too. Atleast till things changed like it is today.

Ordinary PC users have 1GB of ram and three hardrives with 200GB in each. Things change... Laughing Razz
