Ok, took some shots of a few programs made in VDS 5, and one shot
of the IDE. I don't think any of these are too revealing.
Heavy JPG files loading, so it may take a while to load this page.

Keep in mind, that if the IDE feels too cluttered for you, that you can just
totally rip the sucker apart. Pull the tool bars off, The editor tabs, The
debug window, The compiler messages window and the project
manager. Rip them off all into individual windows or hide them via
the menu.

I thought I'd add one to show what a VDS app looks like under Windows XP. You can see that it is fully theme compliant.
By the way, the License Manager is one of the new VDS 5 tools. It allows you to store license keys for extension DLLs in the registry, and the compiler automatically inserts them into the code when building the EXE, so you don't have to put it in the source code. _________________ The Tech Pro

As a VDS user since version 2, I would have to say that with what little info we have been given about VDS 5, we will find it to be the greatest advance for VDS in both form and functionality since the beginning... and I fully expect to be blown away.
Props and thank you to all who have obviously worked very hard on this next release! |

This is intriguing!!
I guess you know you are at least a little bit hooked when you patiently wait for a snippet of information , no matter how small, of the new
release of VDS.
But if its that good, how do I finance it and keep peace with my better half. hmmm.....
I could bust open piggy (quietly)!
I could cash in all the refundables claiming to clean up the trash.
Do housework (and search furniture for lost loot!)
Wait a minute Wait just a DAMN minute
Its that time of year again. I could stop procrastinating and do the income tax returns
Don't know how that will turn out but I got some code to help me thru it.
| Code: | IF @greater(%%taxrefund,0)
%%HOMER = whoohoo!
%%VDS5 = good for go!
ELSE
%%HOMER = Stupid Taxman!
%%VDS5 = Back Burner.
END.
|
But I ramble...............
Still,... VDS5 mmmmmmmmmmmm.
Crossing my fingers,
Hey MARKTRUBO! Help me out here. I think I might need
a scowling Homer image !
mumble,mumble, stupid taxman.

| Yes VDS 5 has direct internet functionality. Actually there are no built in commands or functions but since VDS 5 allows you to call almost ANY dll you can definatelly call any of the Windows winsock dll's which come with Windows and connect to http, ftp, pop, smtp etc.. |

Will the runtime file for v5 be smaller or bigger then in version 4.5? _________________
