I haven't downloaded the latest beta so I can't say for sure the exact size of the runtime but I'm pretty sure Garrett said it was around 220 kb, so roughly about the same size if not smaller.

Then it's smaller. Cause the dll for 4.5 is about 400 kb.
But it can be compressed to 180 kb with UPX.

Just wondering: Is there going to be a BROWSER element in VDS 5 or is
this going to have to be placed on the dialog using VDS 5's abilities of
calling external DLLs or are we still going to need a browser extension? Confused

Just curious... Wink

Does the advent of VDS 5 mean there will be no more bug
fixes or support for current versions of VDS?

Cheers, Mac Smile

Why would you want to know? You're using VDS 3! Laughing

Seriously though.... Name me any company (besides MS) that produces
fixes for older versions of their software? I'd think that there will be no
more fixes for VDS 4. As for support, do we not support VDS 3 still??
So I assume we'll continue to support VDS 4 also. But! I'm not sure
that we'll continue to support VDS 3 now since VDS 5 is on it's way.

Unfortunately they didn't fix some major bugs when VDS 3
and VDS 4 were the current versions. Confused

The memory leak that's now reportedly fixed was posted
before VDS 4 was released. Shocked

Ya old geezer... Razz Very Happy

Cheers, Mac Smile

The list leak was due to a bug within Delphi 2 list's vcl. Should Borland issue a patch for Delphi 2 to fix that issue?

Is Borland still selling Delphi2?

VDS2 and VDS3 are still available. And VDS4 is STILL the
current version...

Not now it isn't because we are at Delphi 7, but at the time of Delphi 3's release Borland surely still sold copies of Delphi 2.

Really? Ya mean Delphi 7 is out and SADE is still usin' Delphi 2?

Imagine that... Shocked

Prolly didn't take Borland 2 years to fix the problem either.

Cheers, Mac Smile

Yep, Delphi 7 out, believe it. That's why one of my wishes was to have
VDS compiled in a later version of Delphi:

But I'm confident that VDS will come out well. Very Happy
