For me the only ways of unlocking the mouse without using the PROT CLIP command seems to be by dragging something (a title bar for example), or switching to a different window. It wouldn't unlock just by right-clicking.

Maybe the spot you've choosen to lock the mouse at isn't very suitable. Maybe a spot somewhere on your dialog would be best, but then still the user could get around by moving your dialog using keyboard shotcuts so that the mouse would be unlocked as well.

So for now I don't know an ultimate solution either...

hello all

i have made a program that auto runs other programs etc, BUT problem is if the user min the window then window send won't works right Sad is there a way to disable mouse clicks? right and left clicks? then have then turned back on after script ends?

thanks

Why can't you just use WINDOW NORMAL and WINDOW ACTIVATE before you use WINDOW SEND? You could put these in a loop. If you need to just put them in a seperate EXE and a IF...END to stop and start the loop and to exit the external program when your main program is done. The effects would be the same. Every time the user minimizes the program the external EXE would bring it back up Evil or Very Mad hehehehehehehe

Maybe another idea: you can create a little dialog at the mouse position if it's over the button you want to disable...

You can use the code unbeneath to place it into a loop...

Code:

  DIALOG CREATE,MyClickableWindow,1,1,3,3,NOTITLE
  DIALOG SHOW

  dialog setpos,,@pred(@mousepos(y)),@pred(@mousepos(x))
  window click,MyClickableWindow,2,2

The best way is probably to blank out the screen since also the mouse
clipping can be turned off by pressing CTRL+ALT+DEL in Windows NT
based systems. Try this code to blank the screen while executing other
commands:

Code:
Title Please Wait...
TASKBAR HIDE
REM -- The following lines are for demonstration only --
shell open,@windir()\notepad.exe
wait 0.5
%%hwnd = @winexists(@winactive())
REM -- End demonstration code --
  DIALOG CREATE,Please wait...,-1,0,@sysinfo(screenwidth),@sysinfo(screenheight),COLOR Black,CLASS TWaitWnd,NOTITLE,ONTOP
  DIALOG ADD,STYLE,BIG,Verdana,14,BC,,WHITE
DIALOG ADD,TEXT,TEXT1,50,0,@sysinfo(screenwidth),,Please wait while we make some changes...,,BIG
  DIALOG SHOW
WINDOW SEND,%%hwnd,This is some test text...
  wait 4
  TASKBAR SHOW
:Close
  exit

mindpower - yes that is what i have now

FreezingFire - that is one idea that could be used

BUT i think if i was to added the code :

Code:

PROT CLIP,1,1,1,1

after every command when its running the auto part then if they unlock it it will re-lock meaning like this: what you think?

Code:

PROT CLIP,1,1,1,1
window send,%W,@CR()
PROT CLIP,1,1,1,1
wait 1
PROT CLIP,1,1,1,1
%o = @winactive(I)
PROT CLIP,1,1,1,1
wait 1
PROT CLIP,1,1,1,1
window close,%o
PROT CLIP,1,1,1,1
wait 1
PROT CLIP,1,1,1,1
%W = @winactive(I)

problem is in my script i have a 60 secs wait SO during this time as you know it don't run the next line of code Sad how can i have a 60secs wait BUT still have it run the PROT CLIP,1,1,1,1 DURING the 60secs?

thanks

Use something like the following to process code while waiting 60 seconds:

Code:
info Start
%%wait = 60
%%start_time = @datetime(nnss)
%%end_time   = @fadd(@datetime(nnss),%%wait)
repeat
info Process code here
REM -- Such as PROT CLIP --
until @greater(@datetime(nnss),%%end_time)
warn Done

Here's basically what you want to do:

Code:
EXTERNAL VDSPROT.DLL,Your_Registration_Here
REM -- Set decimalsep --
OPTION DECIMALSEP,"."
%%wait = 60
%%start_time = @datetime(nn)
%%end_time   = @fadd(@datetime(nnss),%%wait)
repeat
PROT CLIP,1,1,1,1
REM -- Wait .001 seconds to avoid 100% processor usage --
WAIT "0.001"
until @greater(@datetime(nnss),%%end_time)

Note that you can also do other processing such as WINDOW SEND or
something else in the same space as where PROT CLIP is. Smile
