I would love to see HTTP POST and GET options in VDS.
Also, file downloading features would be really great Smile

There's a couple of free DLLs (in case ya don't know about 'em)
that do internet stuff - VDSIPP.DLL and VDSINET.DLL.

www.vdsworld.com will get you to the home page where
DLL files and stuff can be found. Wink

Cheers, Mac Smile

Aaa thanks.
No I didn't know that. I've seen alot of plugins, or extensions on the site but haven't really gotten to the point of using any of them yet.

I've been using Multimedia Builder for some years now and the application you make with using plugins makes the program unstable. Is that the same for VDS?

I think this is my third day with VDS and you guys ain't never getting rid of me. Laughing

Good! Smile

As to your previous question, a well written DLL shouldn't
decrease VDS program stability at all... Wink

Cheers, Mac Smile

This is just so cool.
And before I get too exited? I can use the VDSIPP extension in any programs without paying for it?

And if so, why? This extension is awesome. Wink

Yep - VDSIPP.DLL is freeware.

There's several freeware Dlls - some folks sell 'em, some sell
'em for a while and then make 'em freeware, and some just
make 'em freeware to begin with.

Gotta admit, it's pretty cool. Wink

Welcome GeoTrail,

Some DLLs can be 'unstable' if you don't use the proper commands. The vdsipp.dll for example, needs to have a internet http, destroy,{connection number} command, otherwise it can (not always) crash the VDS IDE on second run. So remember to put this command after the :Close event label, so you won't get errors...

But besides of that, it's a pretty stable DLL!

Hey Skit, Smile

I wouldn't call that 'unstable' - that's programmer error. VDS itself
will crash if ya have bad code - especially with @sendmsg... Wink

Cheers, Mac Smile

Well Geotrail better get use to the excitement cause VDS will really suprise with all the extentions... And YES its more stable than MMB (as you know im an old MMB user).

Imagine yourself have 99% of the MMB Systools.dll right in VDS ! Those kind of surprises I mean...

VDS is a powerfull/easy language.....

Thanks for the praise in regards to vdsipp Smile While I am the author of the vdsipp, without the Indy components from the great people at Nevrona Design's - Delphi internet components the dll would have never been made. The vdsipp was original sold for around ~$25 and many did purchase it (thanks to all those that did purchase), however later became freeware/opensource in the hopes other people would like to expand on the dll and add in new internet protocols.
