I must say that S.A.D.E.'s technical support seems to be working excellently lately A few days ago I reported a bug in VDS and got a reply on the same day So they really do care about VDS and their pre- and prosale support is working out well.
Best regards,
Tommy

That's good to know!! I was probably going to register VDSELM.DLL for my project...I'm going to wait then...But that's going to be a problem if I want to use VDSELM.DLL....
Wait and see. I guess...
And by the way I posted a problem on there discussion board and 2 other guys had lots of problems with the VDS key... Doesn't look good. |

well well well ...
In that case does anyone know of a DLL that will allow me to insert web browsing capabilities into Dialog?
I have looked at the vdshtml.dll. However it only loads HTML files and not
ASP,xml etc ... files properly like vdsELM.dll does.

I just registered VDS 4 about a week ago and got my Registration Key pretty quickly.. Why would Vds Elm be different? _________________ -Sheep

Well that's good.Thanks.. i'm still hesitating... I,ll wait
For the browser dialog the only DLL available that I know of is VDSELM.DLL.
It's pretty stable too. |

I've been trying to get a newer version of the vdshtml.dll made. I've had two people try, but so far, they've both encountered problems with the frames. I bought the full component for it too which is a newer version of what Tommy originally had in the vdshtml.dll.
If I can get someone to finally get by the problem with the frames, then I'll even buy the latest version of the component which allows so much more than the component I have here.
I've got one person who's going to take a stab at it using C++ and maybe he'll be able to get by the frames problem. Time will tell. I need to get the component to him before he can try.
If he succeeds, I'm sorry to say, but I'll end up charging for the resulting dll. I've already put in over $100 into this, and if he succeeds, then I'll have to put more money into it just to get the lastest component. So in the end, I'll have paid close to $300. _________________ 'What you do not want done to yourself, do not do to others.' - Confucius (550 b.c. to 479 b.c.) |

I've talked to Emmanuel Daunizeau, the S.A.D.E. s.a.r.l. owner, today and he's trying his best to resolve the situation. Technical support also seems to have improved.
I'll let you know when this is entirely resolved.
Best regards,

Yup your right Tommy about support. It really improved. All posts in the registered area are now answered from their support team. Which is great! And about VDSELM.dll, I put a post that it should be given away for FREE to VDS users since most of the functionnalities are in VDS 4.0
And guess what... they MAY give it away to registered users of the Professional license.
But for Standard license edition... too bad.. (Im one of them)
So every one that has access to the registered area of www.dialogscript.com go check it out... |

Thanks everyone for looking into this as I still need the keycode OR free version without the shareware popup window. _________________ B.J. Davis, MCSE |

Happily I can mention that S.A.D.E. s.a.r.l. entirely resolved my personal problem with them and paid me the expected amount of money for the work I've done!
Thank you S.A.D.E. s.a.r.l. and Emmanuel!
Best regards,

What the heck does S.A.D.E. s.a.r.l. stand for anyway? What a goofy name.
Ummm.... Umm.... Solutions Adapte' oooooo!!! I have to go look again..
S.A.D.E. = Solutions Adaptées à Demain et à l'Entreprise
I don't remember what the s.a.r.l. was though.

s.a.r.l. somehow refers to the kind of company, I'm not sure how you would call that in English. In Dutch we have an equivalent for that too. So many companies should have "s.a.r.l." in (after) their company name.

Aha, I like this! The VDS forum is evolving linguistic threads. Among other
things I am certified translator so this is certainly within my spheres.
S.A.R.L. is short for "Societé à Responsabilité Limité". In English this is a
limited liability company which is type of company mainly used by one or
a few persons who want to operate as a company mainly in order to limit
the personal exposure to the risks of their business. So this basically means
that if you code is nice little VDS utility that due to some undisclosed bug
totally devastates your 2000 computer company network then you might
try to sue SADE but you cannot take action against the owners.
OK, that's the end of the 'Word of the Day'.
