Would it be possible for someone to write a C/C++/Delphi/etc. program
to let a VDS program run as a service? I know about SRVANY.EXE but
it isn't freely distributable (I think). _________________ FreezingFire

I don't know much about services but ability to run a service easily(especially NT) with a small sized dll is a double edged sword - I think.
People may use it to run malicious services and virii - Soon we may hear that a particular trojan/virus hits if U have VDSrun40/50.dll ! etc ?
I am not discouraging anyone, services could be very useful , each good thing has a bad face also. Just my personal opinion. _________________ Regards

It doesn't really matter if a VDS program runs as a service, you can still
do malicious things already with VDS. You can do anything basically that
another programming language can do.
Sometimes running a service is necessary when you need to create an
application such as a security application, a shutdown timer, etc.
I highly doubt that a virus writer would use VDS to write a widely-known
virus, seeing as it would need the runtime and would just be generally
awkward as a virus. _________________ FreezingFire

That right. Somebody who writes a virus will probably use C, ASM or VB or another small language. VDS files are just too big to 'hide', and they can be identified by a virusscanner real quick, so I think most virus-makers know this and don't use VDS.... _________________ [ Add autocomplete functionality to your VDS IDE windows! ]

Umm I think there is a typo here Skit. You used VB and small language in the same sentence. Since when has VB ever been able to make a small executable? VB's runtime is almost 3 times the size of VDS'es? _________________ Home of
