I've created a xp-like balloon, which just pops up a the right bottom of the screen, but it really looks like the original xp balloon.

Features:
- It uses that orange 3D button which changes when the mouse goes over it and also changes when the mouse clicks it
- The text inside the balloon can trigger an event by clicking it, and the text gets underlined when the mouse goes over it.
- It supports the use of an icon in the left corner of the balloon

I'll put it in a dsu (once I'm registered, I'm going to buy vds TODAY Very Happy), and put it at VDSWorld.

If someone wants some screenshots please post a message in this topic, and I'll upload them to my server (I'm currently at school, at the server's firewall blocks ftp connections Sad)

Greetings,
Vic

IMHO the only way is ability to add your own tray icon rather than VDS default one. there is no way to get the dlg id of VDS tray icon.
Anyway I think you are using a dll (?packed in a DSU). In that case you can try adding this functionality.

He's simulating a tooltip, by placing text elements with all kinds of colors to a dialog. I do this to if I want to have an element which isn't included in VDS... Smile (Like an image-statusbar, etc.)

Hi Vic
I think your DSU got corrupted ??
The script hangs at this line. Even compiled doesn't seem to work.
I am on XP pro.
balloon Balloon DSU, Look! It's a balloon!@cr()And@cr()It@cr()Even@cr()Supports@cr()Multiple@cr()Lines!, 100, 1, glyph.bmp, sound.wav

I know why. Vic forgot to add the following line to the example:

Code:
#define command,Balloon

With this line it should work. I think Vic used to have it in his source of the balloon.dsu file, but VDS doesn't look for #define functions and commands when compiled into a DSU... Sad

It does look into but you have to be aware of the bugs:
First line has to be a comment(REM) in the DSU
there should be atleast a line after the define and first label.
Else it won't work
