Cue Banner XP DSU
=============
Cue Banners are probably the most non Intrusive way of
showing help about a edit box to a user in the editbox itself.
This is a new feature available on Win XP only.
Compiled to a DSU for easy use.

CodeScript, what does it exactly do? I do have Windows XP, but I don't have the XP Manifest enabled...

It sets a faded text as hint in the text box even if it has password style. And Once you click/enter something this will dissapear something similar to searchbox at VDSWORLD site but visually more appealing IMHO.
This API unfortunately is available in XP only and needs manifest enabled.

Now I know what you mean... Smile A while ago I made a VDS subroutine to do such a thing, by using two edit boxes placed over each other... Smile

I've done this before also by placing a shape element over the edit element
of the same placement and dimensions and then putting a text element
over the shape element. Also keep track of which element has the focus
so you can properly hide and show the elements to correspond.

I've done this before just by going through a loop and checking if
it has focus. If it does, it removes the current text, as long as it
is equal to the "cue" that was originally there. Smile

I appreciate your efforts doing that way Smile
And for non XP systems that is the only way probably.
But for XP this one is neat becuase you just need to assign a cue banner to a edit box. Rest of all is taken care of by the Operating system and additionally it has a faded effect of XP which I like (some may hate it ?)

CodeScript, I forgot to mention in my post before that this is an
excellent example! I too really like how first the effect is faded then
the inputted text is black. And it works with password fields too! Very Happy
