We are proud to lanuch my new program: Link Spider
Download: http://www.active-ware.net/files/lssetup.exe 1.2Mb
Link-spider is a unique program designed to help webmasters organize their backlinks and give accurate reporting of all links concerned. Link-spider is designed to be easy to use for all user while at the same time having all the features required by todays top webmasters.
Why do i need link-Spider ?
Today link exchanging is more prevelant than ever. Often the success or failure of a website can depend on an effective linking stategy. But how can you make sure that:
(1) the site you are exchaning links with is still displaying your link
(2) the site doesnt have an exsessive number of backlinks
(3) the site is visable by search engines and will be followed.
Link-spider solves all of these problems by give you a detailed report each time run it.
More information available from http://www.link-spider.com
* Please note we are finishing our website and adding some features, Link Spider Pro is already under development.
We intend to have Link Spider & Link Spider Pro
Any feedback would be great !

Serge,
That error means the program can not connect to the internet, Link Spider connects and verifys that you are using the latest version of the knowledge database.
I am fixing the bug as we speak.

OK, Link Spider has been updated.
Bug Found, when Link Spider could not detect an internet connection it still tried to verify its Knowledge Database, this has been fixed.
Link Spider MUST have an internet connection to run.

thanks for that rubes...i tried it on my laptop that did not have an internet connection at the time...i'm a bit fussy about what i install on my desktop and i usually try stuff out on my laptop first to see if i like it or if i can use it
does your program now run ok without the internet connection or do you need to be connected to just run it and have a look at it ie. not do anything with it except just have a look?

Link Spider MUST have an internet connection,
It is a program that actualy downloads a web page, and then processes and anaylys it, also it must have a internet connection to get the google PR of the Page.
* I resaure you that no information is sent to anyone/anywhere about you or your computer.
The program connects to my site to see if there is a newer version of the Knowledge Database,
The Knowledge Database is a DSU, which holds information on processing the page, google PR, new featues, search engine information etc. This enables me to add new features to the program through the Knowledge Database which is downloaded and applied.

Well, the way Link Spider works is that is comes with a compiled DSU, and it checks my site for an updated version if it finds it, and you are running a registered version of Link Spider, it downloads the latest version puts it in the Link Spider Directory and once Link Spider is restarted it uses the New DSU.
Maybe it's a VDS5 Bug ? If it is DON'T FIX IT !
Cause this is working great for me !

That's pretty cool. I thought you couldn't compile the program if the dsu wasn't found but maybe I'm wrong. Nice, I agree, don't fix it. _________________ FreezingFire

OK, I can't explain how or why it works but what i have done is:
#include LSKDB.DSU
* i have a file called lskdb.dsu, which holds various functions.
My program is compiled and i also include the file lskdb.dsu with the installation, my program then checks for a newwer version of the lskdb.dsu and downloads it.
If i have changed any of the functions in the lskdb.dsu, the program uses the functions in the newly downloaded lskdb.dsu
That's whats working for me, VDS ver 5.02, I don't know if the dsu is supposed to work like that, but it is for me and the people who are using my product
