|
|
I have designed a program that basically does this:
Shut-IT-Down Server has been designed & developed in Visual Dialog Script.
Shut-IT-Down Server will monitor your entire network for any computers running Shut-IT-Down Client (subject to license) for inactivity. If any client is not used for a user defined time then the server instructs the client to shutdown.
Shut-IT-Down Server will also monitor the time and day and carry out one of the following if the user defined values match.
SHUTDOWN - The user must finish & save their work before the timer reaches 0.
REBOOT - The user must finish & save their work before the timer reaches 0.
FORCE - This option will force the computer down. (this will NOT prompt the user to save their work and will also terminate any programs or processs being performed.)
HIBERNATE - The user must finish & save their work before the timer reaches 0. This will put the computer into Hibernatation
HIBERNATIONFORCE - This will force the computer into Hiberanation. (this will NOT prompt the user to save their work and will also terminate any programs or processs being performed.)
SUSPEND - The user must finish & save their work before the timer reaches 0.
SUSPENDFORCE - This will force the computer to Suspend. (this will NOT prompt the user to save their work and will also terminate any programs or processs being performed.)
LOGOFF - The user must finish & save their work before the timer reaches 0.
LOGOFFFORCE - This will force the computer to Suspend. (this will NOT prompt the user to save their work and will also terminate any programs or processs being performed.)
You can also reconfigure all the clients remotely. eg.
Inform them of the following changes:
Server's IP address
Server's Port Address
In-Activity Countdown
Countdown
INformation they will see when the computer shutdowns, reboots etc etc.
You can:
Set daily events at a defined time, or day by day.
A new option added to this version:
Who is On?
----------
This builds a list of all clients that are currently activated. You can then select clients to perform events now.
OK, the main reason i want to make this open source is because there are one or two minor bugs which I can't figure out.
If you are interested in developing this project please just add a comment or something here and if there are a few interested I will post the url of the source code:
DLLs and files used in this program are:
vdssplash.dll
vdsinet.dll
blowfish.dll
mt.dll
and a couple of my own.
