Hi all,
You can now see what I have been talking about. Gadget is now released to the public. I still have more examples to make and more documentation but I think Gadget is stable enough to post it for everyone to try. I have been waiting a long time for this and I am sure that most of you thought it was a myth but Gadget is not a Myth and here it is finally. Anyway I hope you have fun with it. I have worked very hard on it So enjoy Gadget and feel the power _________________ Home of

This is one of (if not) the best DLL for VDS. I fully support it's development
and will continue to suppory Mindpower (Jonny K.) with any help he
may need. Way to go Jonny. _________________ Chris

This is a GREAT DLL!
Just thought I'd report a small bug so that you know about it (if not already)...
I run a script using GADGET.DLL once, exit successfully. But if I try to run it again, without restarting VDS, I get the error:
(VDS Code to replicate it exactly...)
%a = @msgbox(Exception EAccessViolation in module vds.exe at 77B51FBD.@cr()Access violation at address 77F531F5. Read of address 00740066.,Application Error,$010)
I'm using VDS 4.5 and Windows XP Home Edition... _________________ FreezingFire

Ok it seems there is a problem with Gadget and Windows XP? I will have to investigate this further. Is anyone having a similiar problem with Windows 2000 or ME _________________ Home of

I think it's because of NT related memory protection, which isn't implemented in ancient Windows 9x. |

FreezingFire and Tommy,
Does this happen no matter which example you try or is it happening just in one particular example?
Thanks, _________________ Home of

It doesn't depend on which example is being used. |

Tommy,
Please explain what you mean by NT Memory Protection? Gadget does have a big footprint in memory. I am working to bring that down though. _________________ Home of

Is the NT memory protection something new to XP? I do not have these problems with Windows 2000???? At least I have not seen any yet other than the bitmap not showing on the Start Menu button. _________________ Home of

Johnny, I know nothing about memory management, I just know NT adds some additional protection
compared with 9x, so there's probably some kind of leak.
I just downloaded the new version you notified me about and it does the same. |

Hi Mindpower,
All of the information Tommy gave was just the same...an identical description except that I have Windows XP Home Edition... _________________ FreezingFire
