I released a program called PC Protector 2.1.1 Lite Edition a few months ago and it has nearly 3000 Downloads from Download.com alone.

I have just finished version: 3.0 Professional with loads of new features and extras,

It is also 95,98,ME,NT,2000 and XP compatabile.

What i am wondering is whether to make it Open Source to try and improve it more, and maybe convert it to FREEWARE or even POSTCARDWARE.

If anyone is interested please post and if there is an interest I will release the source code to those interested.

This IS the forum for Open Source VDS projects. I think PC Protector would be a great addition to it.

Currently there has been 9 people who have downloaded the source files for PC Protector and Two people have been in contact will changes to the source and suggestions. Which have been very welcome.

This is the first time i have used an Open source Idea, and i think i would do it again.

Source Code updates have been received from:

LOBO - 6 September 2002

FreezingFire - 6/7 September 2002

Changes so far:

* A very secure registration procecess
* A New Login procedure
* Better satbility
and a few more....

We are working on a similar network type shim right now so I would definitely be interested in this as well because it fits what we are working on in our spare time.
