Hi,

does somebody know a way to do something like dnsquery or dig
(asking a specific nameserver for data on a domainentry) in vds ?
Maybe with vdsipp.dll ?

Bye, Fabian

Hello,

If you know a nameserver, you can use either the vdsipp.dll as the vdsinet.dll for it. Just connect to it with TCP and send the right command's to receive data from a domain.

I've found something. Use this:

Code:
%%address = "www.yahoo.com"

run nslookup %%address

I don't know how to get the information, because @retcode() gives a NULL. Maybe you can get it by using command.com or something to log what nslookup returns...

There is a built in WHOIS query within the vdsipp, otherwise if you need other information you'll need to use tcp. Looking on the internet for RFC documents you should be able to find the port numbers needed for the information you are requesting.

Just force it into a file, then load the file into a file list and read the info out. Maybe like this:
Code:

%%ADDRESS = yahoo.com
LIST CREATE,1
LIST ADD,1, nslookup %%ADDRESS > @NAME(%%ADDRESS).txt
LIST SAVEFILE,1,nslookup.bat
LIST CLOSE,1
RUN nslookup.bat,wait
LIST CREATE,1
LIST LOADFILE,1,@NAME(%%ADDRESS).txt
LIST SEEK,1,4
%%IP = @ITEM(1)
LIST CLOSE,1
WARN %%IP
