Is there a way to tell if the IE toolbars are hidden or not, and to hide them in VDS?

Thanks

You may be able to tell from reading the registry. You possibly might get enough from these reg files to be able work out how to tell.

hidemenubar.zip: ( 926bytes ) Number of downloads: 1020
http://www.neowin.net/forum/index.php?act=attach&type=post&id=88838

HideMenubar.zip: ( 2.96Kb ) Number of downloads: 907
http://www.neowin.net/forum/index.php?act=attach&type=post&id=88840

and the related topic (which doesn't tell you much at all) http://www.neowin.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=231346

But there must be a simple way to check, because various admin tools must be able to show if they're enabled or disabled etc.

That just hides the Menu toolbars. What I need it to be able to tell if the address bar, control buttons etc... are hidden. Like on a popup window from IE (any version) I am building a kiosk and I need to hide these controls on IE (6 or 7). I tried to use the registry but that only works in IE 6. IE 7 is a different story. I cannot file a way to hide them. anyone know how to do that?

Just a helpful note, in IE7 you cannot hide the address bar on a popup window. Microsoft made that change to prevent phishing scams by presenting a popup window with the user not knowing what address he/she is on.

Well, after much looking, I did find a way that it can be done. I don't know if I should post it here or not. It does work. It is right from the MS site. Now I need to be able to hide the favorites toolbar/buttons and the buttons for home/print/settings etc..

Just post the URL so anyone reading this in future can also find the find answer.
