I would like to see a feature similiar to many programs have, such as
Microsoft Office, Sound Forge, Windows Movie Maker, etc., which lets you
recover a file if the program crashes to the last auto-saved version.

The dialog designer crashes freqently on me when I'm designing complex
dialogs, and sometimes I haven't saved my dialog because I'm just about
ready to add it to my code, and it crashes.

I'm sure others would find such a feature very useful too. Smile

What about making your own dialog editor? I know many people tried (including me) but most only stopped because all elements need different values for the parameters (Like a menu, which syntax is different from a button). I already found a 'quick' solution for it, but have not completed that project, because I had to do a lot for school. If you want, I can try to explain my way of making a dialog designer, so that you can add auto-save cabilities to it... Smile

As soon as Prakash has made some changes I mentioned to his vdspopup.dll, I'll start making a professional DialogDesigner (called Brush) Very Happy

Regards,
Vic

good idea ff...i must admit that it was a feature i have been wanting for some time

vic...if you are making a new ide...why not incorporate your backup program into it together with the autosave...so that at the end of a session, a user could click on a button and presto...all his code files are backedup

serge
