that section of the help file appears to be the only place that DLGTYPE is mentioned...hence not much light can be shed by looking for other occurences of that word

DLGTYPE is indeed a leftover from the VDS 2x help file.
It allowed dialog styles (in VDS 2.5 32-bit anyway) such
as SAVEPOS, DRAGDROP, NOSYS, NOMIN, ONTOP and
SMALLCAP.
These of course are now available as parameters for
DIALOG CREATE in VDS 3x and later.

(but I did hafta check the VDS 2x help file for the params).
