VDS is high priced as it is..not as high priced as some compilers out there, but high priced.
There are products out there that offer more than VDS with just a bit more of a learning curve, for almost a 3rd of the price. Before you tell me to go use them, I've paid for VDS and I also help others with it when I can.
Soon IBasic will compile to ASM, for I'm sure less than the current price of VDS. VDS could have that ability and pull in alot more users. _________________ -Sheep

ASM is Assembly Language. Pretty much like writing programs in machine code. It's as fast and as small(exe size) as you can get I think.
You can see some source code at http://www.programmersheaven.com/zone5/mh1.htm _________________ -Sheep

If IBASIC is going to compile directly to ASM its very nice. I hope VDS should also do that - the code will have smallest footprint and can be highly optimised and fastest as the app is directly taking to the machine. C++ apps are also very near this.

Yes directly programming in ASM is a nightmare I think. I just got a few exmaple snipplets but could not make much progress. And I dont think ther is any nned for many of us to learn direct programming in ASM now that so many good easy syntax langauges(VDS Easiest ) available - linkers & compilers do that for us. Direct use of ASM is probably done to optimise a code already done in othe language with good IDE to write mission critical drivers, exe packers and such stuff where speed and size really matter -I think. _________________ Regards
