i am wanting to upgrade from version 4.5 to 5 but everytime i go to the vds site, the live support is always offline and if i try to leave a message by clicking on the live support button, then i get an error when i try to send my message...i can't find my serial number of vds 4.5 and hence cannot upgrade using the automation system...this explains why i need to "talk" to the live support people to see what can be done...any ideas?
thanks in advance

Isn't the serial number stored in the registry somewhere? (I haven't got 4.5 here so I can't look to see if it is.) If so, I guess it will be under HKCU\Software\SADE\something. _________________ The Tech Pro

Also you can look in the about box for your serial number. _________________ FreezingFire

Serge, I'm usually on the live support there from Noon to 7 PM Pacific
Time during the weekdays. Probably not your time frame though.

my about box does not show my serial number but it says that i am running an unregistered version...weird as i have the key file installed and i can compile ok...
that's ok garrett...i understand about the time differences...my frustration was not being able to leave a message as i was continually getting an error...i finally got through with mindpower being online...tell you what, i love that online feature at the vds site...fantastic feature being able to "talk" to a human being live about vds related problems such as my loss of my serial number...congrats to the people responsible for that feature

Usually that problem happens when the keyfile is set as readonly.
But come to think of it, with my copy of VDS 4, it tells me I have an
"Unregistered Demo" when I payed my full $99 for it.
But like you said I can compile fine, etc. _________________ FreezingFire

There's the FAQ where I got that answer from. But seeing as mine
and everyone else's says that it must be a bug in VDS 4.51
LOBO, Protected, and Serge: What specific version of VDS 4 are you
using? _________________ FreezingFire
