Actually most popup blockers only block popups -- not new windows. Smile

I don't think any standard popup blockers close a shell executed browser window as they are maimly based on BHOs I think.
BTW Skit How about a hta app with hta window hidden ?

There's no problem with virus scanners and HTA files, only when you
try to access a file or write a file will one be triggered. Smile

Then I think a HTA file will be a real good solution... Smile

If you use, for instance, vdsipp.dll and call a php script with the HTTP GET command, passing parameters through GET.... Will it popup a window? Will it trigger any blocking program, firewall, etc? I thought it wouldn't but I may be wrong.

I think it might trigger a firewall, because you are making a connection over the internet. But it won't alert a popup blocker, simply because there isn't a popup... Smile
