You could save it in this format for just one file
fav1="VDSWORLD|www.vdsworld.com"
fav2="Visual Dialogscript Homepage|www.dialogscript.com"
fav3=
fav4=
fav5= _________________ Visual Dialogscript 5 |

You could keep a list of windows that have been active and pick the one right before your window. < still couldn't be for sure if it correct _________________ Visual Dialogscript 5 |

I think Tim needs something like my JavaScript does on my website, it has a button the user clicks and makes my website a favorite on thier IE, but he wants the power of VDS to do all that offline.
And to be able to read the propertys of URLs and have automatic full control of...
Sounds like the job for DLL |

You will need to download the webpage, any number of dll's allow you to download pages using the HTTP protocol , vdsipp, vdstcpip, vdsdll and I think skit has a dsu which cna do http downloads too.
You need to download the page to disc, PARSE the html file and grab the information between <TITLE> and </TITLE> you now have the title of the webpage. You also already have the URL too.
It's now simply a matter of creating the file you need and saving those two pieces of information into the file.
If this isn't what you are looking for than you will need to be much more descriptive of what you are trying to achieve. |

cool but if the web page is big won't it take a long time parse it?
also to Skit3000 what about parse code for | so i could have the favs be like this
fav1="VDSWORLD|www.vdsworld.com"
fav2="Visual Dialogscript Homepage|www.dialogscript.com"
fav3=
fav4=
fav5=
what i could do is have it parse for title then save it then have it save the url after it using the | then when you view your fav and click on the one you want it would find the url after the | ....i hope you follow what i mean _________________ Have a nice day |

Tim you really have to pop open that vds help file and start reading up on how to use some of these commands.
OPTION FIELDSEP,|
PARSE "%%title;%%url", %%data
where %%data is the TITLE|URL
You then have the two separate variables %%title and %%url which hold the correct information. |

hi
I'd like to be able just to get the URL address from a webpage while online, but the earlier code posted on this post (I think it was CodeScript) had a IF line that contained 'ComboBoxEx32' I looked for this in VDS5 Help, and no luck... what is that? (he said that script was no use if use DLL - so I figure its VDS code ???)
Or is it an IE known maybe ..
Looks like an awesome script, and where can I find instructions on how to use that vdsbrw50.dll that comes with VDS5 please? Thank you... |

Unfortunately there's no reference included with this component so basically you can check out the
example script included in the package and this thread:
