hello all
What is the best way you guys make updates for your programs? meaning do you re-complie the whole exe again? or do you make a plug in type of upgrade?
i would like to make a plug in type of upgrades but i'am not sure how to go about this:(
any ideas would be great thanks

Plug in updates don't really work in VDS. It's best to just distribute a new EXE.

humm i understand what ya mean.... however there must be a way to come up with something.. ya i know re-maiking a exe is not that bad..

hi tim,
i recompile all my updates as exe which i make available at my download page with the version number...this way folks can keep an eye out and make sure that they are running the latest version
if you have a list of folks who need to be notified of an update, send them an email advising them of this with a link to download the latest version...this way they can do the download themselves if they are interested...i would not send them all the latest version by email
