Hi All,
Well it's time for ShinobiSoft to grow up. Although I am an avid martial
artist and have been since I was a little kid, ShinobiSoft is prolly imature
as a business name, therefore I've decided to rename my company and
hopefully this will allow for a prosperous new start. 'ShinobiSoft' is derived
from a nickname I was given 20 years ago, Shinobi, which is also a video
game. I was given the nickname because I was so good at the game.
Since I'm not a teenager anymore, I guess the name doesn't fit.
Since I'm located in the heart of Vol country (Tennessee Vols), I've
decided on 'VolSoft Software' as my new company name. It will be some
time before these changes take effect, but I wanted everyone to know
ahead of time.
This change will also involve the creation of new company logos, etc.
Anyone with any ideas, please feel free to share them.
On that note, I should also mention that on the next updates for
SSMenu.Dll and SSTreeVw.Dll, they will no longer be named as such.
SSMenu.Dll will be VdsMenu.Dll and SSTreeVw.Dll will be VdsTreeVw.Dll.
These dll's will no longer be developed after the next update. These dlls
were written for VDS and I feel that since they are freeware they should
be named as such. _________________ Bill Weckel

Just make sure you check for copyright and trademark issues before you have anything seem like it has anything to do with "The VOLS" |

Hi again,
Well Serge, looks like no coming of age party. After some more
serious thought I've decided to stick with ShinobiSoft.
Only difference now is ShinobiSoft is a reality.
Introducing...
http://www.shinobisoft.com !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My domain name registration is still pending so the site isn't up and
running yet. This process may take a couple of days. Rest assured, as
soon as everything is set up, VdsWorld, and the rest of the world for that
matter, will know that shinobisoft.com is up and running at full steam.
PLEASE...... I NEED HELP !!
I need help designing a company logo, as I like mine, but you see how
imaginative my avatar is. No artistic abilities what so ever. I can't pay much, but
we can trade services or something. Anyone intersted please contact me
via email or PM. Many many thanks in advance. _________________ Bill Weckel

Very Cool!!!
How about a "staying young forever" party?
I'm not terribly imaginative either, but you never know...
How about some hints as to what you would want to "convey" with your logo...

Sounds fun! When do we start.

I'm really not wanting to "convey" anything I don't think.
As I stated in an earlier thread, I've been an active martial artist for
almost 30 years now. Over those 30 years I've grown accustom to some
Japanese beliefs and philosophies.
So I guess some kind of oriental theme, preferrably Japanese. Nothing
complicated, just effective. _________________ Bill Weckel

Well my domain name has been registered. Now to decide what kind of
site to design. I may just revamp my existing site. _________________ Bill Weckel

Well, http://www.shinobisoft.com has gotten another face lift. I've switched
from straight HTML, CSS, and Javascript to PHP, HTML, CSS, and
Javascript. I've also added some new features.
I still have a little work to do, but the new site is up and running as of the
moment I made this post. _________________ Bill Weckel

Thanks Serge. I've been working my hind end off trying to learn some
PHP over the past couple weeks. My computer is set up as a web server so
I was able to tinker with the PHP aspect right at home.
I still have more work to do though, and some bugs to work out of some
of my PHP scripts. I've written my own script for collecting visitors stats,
but it isn't doing everything that it is supposed to. I'm not wanting to deal
with another party having to collect my site stats anymore. I learn best
from doing, so...
I will of course start tracking my downloads and everything else too. It's
been alot of work but well worth the learning experience. _________________ Bill Weckel

i have been doing the same thing too and it has been wonderful to see where my traffic comes from + to see that i am getting some traffic from google but not for the keywords i have been targeting
the great thing with doing it yourself is that you can get just the stats you want which in my case is the date and time (using my own GMT time so it makes more sense to me) + their ip so i can track visitors and check on repeat visitors + the url they used to get to me
php is an incredible language and was thinking that vds should be a windows version of it

If you are also a python fan you should check out "BOO" it's a new python like OO language that compiles for the .net CLI. I use the opensource SharpDevelop IDE which works for C#, VB.NET and Boo. The IDE is a little buggy but quite functional.
