i have been playing with this vdsreg and i make a key for my program is works great (in windows 9Cool BUT if i tryied to run my program with key in xp it don't see the key Sad


how can i fix this for xp?

wow

I have played with this for the last hour...its weird works great on 98 but for the life of me i can't get i to work woth xp Sad i even tried to rename the key file thinkg that maybe the key file name was to long..nope no go Sad i'am going to keep playing with it to see if i can find anything out...


if any one has any ideas please post

An uneducated guess here, but maybe from within your own program change the attributes of the key file to remove all possible attributes.

It may be that XP automatically set attributes to the key file and your VDS program is unable to access the file due to the attributes.

FILE SETATTR, <file path>, <attributes>

FILE SETATTR changes the attributes of the file <file path>. The string <attributes> consists of one or more of the following characters:

+ turns on the attributes following (default)
- turns off the attributes following
A archive attribute
H hidden attribute
R read only attribute
S system attribute

%%KeyFile = path and name of key file here
File Setattr,%%KeyFile,-AHRS

I have tried the following and still no go Sad

1. chnage the ext to somethimes else besides key
2. gave "full" path to point to the key file
