If you make a dialog with a title name like VDSPROGRAM and then make a edit-box with the same name, you can't edit the properties of it with the dialog designer...

That's because there are two elements with the same name, and it confuses them and finds the first one with the name, and it thinks that is the one you want to edit. It also happens when to name elements the same name such as menus, buttons, bitmaps, progress bars, etc.

Yes, but the strange thing is, that if you make a new element with the same name, there will be a warning: "Unable to create New Dialog", but if you change the name later, there isn't any warning...

I think that is a bug that S.A.D.E. didn't catch when they were building the Dialog Designer like you said...

You could probably post that in the Registered User Only section of the dialogscript.com site...under "Bug Reports", that is where to submit bugs...

I'm not sure I would consider that a bug..I guess because I don't name any elements the same.
I noticed that Tommy has a pretty good system of using e's in front of the names of editboxes, t's for text elements etc.
Like: eChat and tInfo
I kind of doubt SADE would try and fix this as really it's the programmers mistake.
