BTW, the current time is ALWAYS gonna be later
than the file creation time... _________________ VDSug.dll does file IO, check/disable menu items,

Try this to check the DATE only, not the time:
| Code: |
%T = @datetime(yyyymmdd)
%S = @datetime(yyyymmdd, @file(C:\config.sys,T))
INFO T= %t@cr()S= %s
if @greater(%T,%S)
rem *** Do something ***
info info1
else
rem *** Do something else
info info2
end
|

| but going BY date won't really work cause if a file is made on the same day BUT the file size don't chnage BUT the file does have new data in it...then that won't work right ( if i'am following you here) |

OK, you need to record the file creation time,
then periodically compare the recorded time
to the file's creation time. And update the
recorded time (if it's different) for the next
comparison.
The current time has nothing to do with it...
Lol, I just figured out what you're trying to do...

Sure. The file type doesn't matter.
Or you could use a registry key...
Or if the program runs all the time, you could store
it in a var when the program starts.

__________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
| Code: |
LIST CREATE, 1
LIST ADD, 1, @file(c:\test\test.txt, T)
LIST SAVEFILE, 1, c:\whatever.txt
|
BTW, using the float like this example does will prolly
be easiest...
