Ripping companies off isn't cool.

Tsunami1988,
The people on this Forum do not take kindly of people ripping off other companies even if it is Micro$oft. I would refrain from doing so. I am only a user on this Forum and have no affiliation with the owners but I do sell my software and do not like the idea of someone hanging out on this forum taking other peoples hard work for free. If I was you I would go out and buy a copy of the OS you are using or switch to a OS that is actually free like Free BSD, or Linux. I am not trying to start any trouble here but did you get VDS the same way you got your version of Windows?
All I have to say is if you cannot afford it then write it yourself but don't take it.

Well, if they didn't make those operating systems damn expensive, I would've bought one.
And I can't afford it, but I can't write it either, so then I'll have to take it Razz (I'm not going to run on Windows 3.11, just because some people think you have to buy everything)

What's to stop him from stealing other peoples properties? What's to stop him from walking into someone's house and taking their TV set just because he can't afford to buy one himself? I don't know maybe it's because I am from America and not the Netherlands? Isn't there laws against stealing in the Netherlands too? Ok maybe I am jumping to conclusions here? Maybe he is like "Robin Hood" and he only steals from the rich to give to the poor? Well please don't steal from me for I am very poor...

Tsunami1988, look forward to a permanent ban coming to a forum near you. I'd do it myself but I'll go ahead and consult Tommy first.

We simply do not condone piracy here, especially so blantant. If you can't afford $99 for Windows XP Home then honestly you should be doing other things besides spending time at a vdsworld forum like GETTING A JOB.

Well, then you get my point. I'm poor too. So why can't I have a cracked operating system, like anyone else? Like I said, I'm not going to run on Windows 3.11 (cause that's about my latest legal Windows I have Razz) cause someone says I should use a legal operating system.

Ever heard of people that are too young to work? Well, I'm one of them...

And by the way, I don't understand why I get a permanent ban, while this forum is about scripting, not about who has a cracked OS and who hasn't...

Your parents don't give you an allowance? You can't go cut people's lawn for money? You can't be a paper boy and deliver newspapers for money? You can't tutor people on how to use a computer and earn money? Help your neighbors out with work and earn money?

There are many ways to earn money as a child, we both know it's not about money. It's about you choosing to take things the easy way rather then earn them, which is the reason you boasted about your piracy.

Seriously it's not a 'cool' thing to do just because you think everyone else is doing it.

Ahh let's see, your going to pirate Windows XP which is about $99. What's to stop you from pirating VDS which is the same price?

You don't want to be banned? Email me the NAME you registered VDS with and if your name comes up in the database then you can stay.

Tsunami1988,
Sir, just because you cannot afford the latest version of Windows does not mean that you cannot afford a 32bit Windows OS. Here is a link to a website that sales older versions of software at discount prices. This page shows Windows 9x for only $25.00. Even a child should be able to do something to earn $25.00 even if it takes a month or two.
http://store.yahoo.com/swdeals/windows95nt.html

Sure it is not Windows XP but it is enough to run VDS. Also if you don't like what you see at the site above you can goto any search engine and put "Discount Software" as the search string and it will bring back tons of sites that do the same. Maybe you can find Win9x even cheaper? Either way you would have an OS that you paid for and that you could really be proud of Idea

I have to agree that ripping off software is not cool! if you can't afford it, then do what a lot of people do - don't use it!

There may be lots of people using pirated software but that does not make it right. And people like me have to pay more for our software because the companies have to put up their prices to regain what they lose to pirates.

So, Tsunami1988, you not only are stealing from compaines (and that is exactly what you are doing) but you are ripping me off too by making the prices go up for people like me.

I know that the latest Windows version is expensive. I think that the upgrade to XP for me here in Australia is around $250 because our dollar is not too good compared to the US$ (and $250 for us down under is a fair amount of money!!!). And i had thought of upgrading to XP but i can't afford that sort of price - so, i am doing without!

I had been offered a pirated copy of XP - but i declined the offer!

I would like to encourage you to do the right thing Tsunami1988 Smile Smile Smile

Serge
