Am I the only only having trouble posting here? Every time I try to post something in MSIE
I get an error "Invalid_session"...

Yes, I did read Tommy's announcement. But I'm using plain MSIE 6.0 and no AOL stuff.

I am posting this now in Netscape 7 - no way to get through with MSIE.

Sad Sad

Hi Dread,

Try the following in order:

- Go to main page and try to post again
- Log out/in
- Clear cookies and login

The last fix will definitely fix it for sure. But you should also maybe try closing
all your VDSWORLD forum browsers and try again. Smile

Don't worry, the forum is not trying to make your like hard. It is simply a
security feature implemented by the people at phpBB to prevent session
hijacking. People have complained at the forums at phpBB.com and I'm
sure that the developers at phpBB are coming up with a solution.

In the mean time I might have another fix which I will ask Tommy about. Smile

You might have to dump the cookies you have for the forum in MSIE and
let it set new cookies.

Mozilla just grabbed the new cookies and kept on trucking for me. Haven't
tried in MSIE yet.

This is a hassle with IE4. Confused

If I use new cookies (old ones removed), it will NOT login
automatically. Neither here nor at VDS Developer.

If I use the old cookies it does login automatically, but I get the
"Invalid Session" if I attempt to do anything - even logging out
(had to remove the old cookies before I could log out).

Any ideas?

Cheers, Mac Smile

OK - found a workaround... Smile

The address/login ID appears in the IE4 address window once
I'm logged on - so I used that as the bookmark address, basically
bypassing the cookies.

Works fine here and at VDS Developer so far. Wink

Serge, here's the format mine were in:

mac@www_vdsworld(?).txt

where ? is a number. Ya may need IE closed to remove them.

Another thing ya might try... If opera shows your login ID in the
address window, try copying the whole thing and pasting to the
IE window. If it logs in OK, ya can bookmark it (or edit the old
bookmark) as I did. Wink

Cheers, Mac Smile

In IE you can also try going to tools and Internet options. Edit the web sites in privacy, add vdsworld to override cookie handling. I think this will work.

Make sure that you visit the forum every time with the same address,
if you have auto-login enabled and you logged in on http://forum.vdsworld.com/
you won't be automatically logged into http://www.vdsworld.com/forum/

BTW, what operating system do you use, I'm just curious. Smile
